Whatever stands between man and God is his true master

Worship is an expression of reverence and adoration. For those who believe in a higher power, that should be the object of his worship, his God. But Godly worship brooks no compromise with things of the World because a man cannot serve two masters.

Thus, a man may proclaim God as his master while continuing to revere and adore a thing of the World, the most common one being money. While he may honestly think he believes in God, his love of money will stand in the way, demanding his subservience. And that will be his master.

Such a man may think he is serving God alone, but God knows our divided hearts. He can see what stands between us even if we cannot and He yearns for us to set it aside so that we can worship Him.

Because whatever stands between man and God is his true master.
