WORLD

A man will be of God or of the World but never both

Through faith, men of God place their hope in the Kingdom even though they cannot see it with their own eyes. But men of the World place their hope in the things of man because they have chosen to be wise in their own eyes. For those men, what is not perceivable through the senses does not exist.

This is why men of the World worship the Earth rather than its creator. They can see the result of creation for themselves but would need faith to accept that the creator, though unseen, is far greater. Because they cannot see Him, they choose to ignore Him. They are like a man who thanks a ham sandwich for bringing itself into existence on his plate rather than the person behind the kitchen door who made it for him.

The Godly man sees the World for what is, the result of creation. He will not reject it, for he knows that nothing that comes from God can be bad unless it becomes an idol. The Worldly man will see the World as all there is, making it the focus of his hope and faith. In this way, the two are mutually exclusive. To worship the World is to reject God and to worship God is to accept but not idolize the World.

Thus, a man will be of God or of the World but never both.
