Man’s separation from God by sin

Genesis 3:22

And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

God’s creation was perfect because He is perfect. He created us in his own image and gave us free will to be obedient. Adam and Eve abused that freedom by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, which God forbade them to do. Through that act of disobedience, sin entered the world, making man mortal, passing a sinful nature to humanity, and separating us from our creator.

Thus, it is separation from God by sin that is the Problem. There are other problems in the fallen World, but all of them are derivative of THE Problem. Each one one is traceable back through sloth, lust, anger, pride, envy, greed, and gluttony to its original source: sin.

To keep humans separated from the creator, the Splitter has enslaved us to sin. As slaves to sin, we cannot be in right relationship with God because He is perfect. And because we are out of right relationship with God, we are in torment, desperately searching the World for things of the World to fill the gap.

But nothing of man ever will. Like shipwrecked survivors clinging desperately to leaky lifeboats in the stormy sea, we are need of rescue to return to dry land, safety, and the peace of reconciliation with God.

That is why the Problem is man’s separation from God by sin.
