PROCRASTINATION

There is no middle ground between the acceptance and rejection of truth

Truth is a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality. Because it exists outside of man, no man can create it for himself—he can only accept or reject it, and this choice is one for him to freely make. That is the design of the God of all truth.

This choice is also binary. Yet men often seek a middle ground between acceptance and rejection by responding to truth’s profession with something like “I don’t disagree,” or “you’re not wrong.” To a man’s own understanding this sounds wise, but it is only a meaningless form of procrastination.

Acceptance of truth requires agreement and acknowledgement that it is correct. One must say “I agree that you are right.” And, if choosing to reject truth, one must say “I disagree because you are wrong." Anything else is an irrational and futile delay of the inevitable because there is no middle ground between the acceptance and rejection of truth.

I wish I better understood your position on truth, since it seems to be an important and recurring theme of your messages. Can you give some examples of truth that are empirically binary and incontrovertible? It seems to me that almost everything (if not literally everything) is subject to some subjective consideration. Isn't it the case that for something to be objectively true that it has to be empirical, immutable, and perpetual? Since we can never fully validate the latter two of these criteria, it's strikes me as indefensible to claim to have possession of THE truth.
